MS mail stopped working and cannot get back into my account without error message

I changed my email password on my PC and my 2 iPads both stopped incoming messages.  I tried accessing the account with the new passwork and I get an error message stating that it cannot find the server.  I have tried using various methods of trying to sign back in, but I keep getting the same error message.  If anyone as any ideas how I can get past this error message I would appreciate it.   I can get into my email account going directly though the iPad Safari browser, but not through the email app????
