Q: Why am I being asked for PPPoE information?  I can't get past this

Where do I find the required info, Username, Password?  I've watched and read how to set up Time Capsule for first time and there is no mention of this PPPoE screen?  Pulling my hair out.  The "tag" line is set is quicker than making a cup of coffee.....I could have flown to Brazil and back in this time

    Are you using adsl modem?

The TC wants to take over the main router role.. which is fine if you bridge the modem.. but otherwise obviously not OK at all. That is a real .. pain.. on the new airport utility wizard.. it simply must take over.

The method of getting around it is simple.. do it manually once the setup is finished.

So dream up any username and password you like.. fredblogs and password bloggsfred.. whatever you like. Just make it shut up.

Complete the wizard. It will fail but that is fine.

During the wizard.. please use only names that are short, no spaces and pure alphanumeric.

Also please ensure you have ipv6 set in the computer network preferences for wireless and ethernet to link-local.

Once you finish the wizard.. now click on the TC. Clcik on edit.

Go to the Internet tab and change it to dhcp.

Go to the Network tab and choose Off (bridge mode)

Click on update.. and bang your done.

Now I am assuming you are using a modem router.

You are connected by ethernet to the modem from WAN port on the TC.

Any new info or if the above fails.. give a heap of screenshots and we can figure it out.. before you get back from Brazil.
