Feb 27, 2014 4:22 AM in response to a.hby ivan54,So how long does this spark last? I'm not sure what the difference is between a static spark and a "regular" spark, but have you contacted Apple about this?
Is this with the earbuds or are you holding the iPhone to your ear?
They do have an article about static shocks from earbuds.
Apple Earbuds and static electricity
Does any of that apply?

Feb 27, 2014 4:26 AM in response to a.hby carl wolf,The power adapter does not provide a ground, and it's possible that you're noticing the current leakage. I'ts not dangerous - it's well within the international safety standards - but it can be annoying. You can alleviate it completely by unplugging the power adapter when you use the iPhone.

Feb 27, 2014 5:15 AM in response to a.hby a.h,I don't use the earbuds, its just when I'm holding the phone to my ear. It's like a sharp pain almost. And you're right, I should contact Apple...I just wanted to know if anyone else had this problem.
When I charge the phone it's usually through USB connected to my iMac. Does that make a difference?
