Sometimes a simple power cycle of the Apple TV can resolve this issue. If the issue persists, check to make sure the iPad is not set to mute when using AirPlay. Next, try closing all open applications in multitasking and power cycle the device. If these steps do not resolve the issue, try the steps in the third article below.
