Q: Font book app isn't in fPermittedFrontApps
Hi,
I discovered, i had many duplicate fonts in fontbook & i guess it was due to mac office 2011. So, i decided to use the repair tool of fontbook and delete the duplicates. And as i was upset with office 2011 and deleted Office 2011 and it was a great relief.
I also verified the duplicates using fontbook. now, Fontbook does not show me any problems. All fonts are ticked in green.
I understood the problem was still here. Here is my system.log
28/02/2014 09:15:48,465 PluginProcess[382]: CoreText performance note: Client called CTFontCreateWithName() using name "Arial Unicode MS" and got font with PostScript name "ArialUnicodeMS". For best performance, only use PostScript names when calling this API.

i have decided to click on "Restore standard fonts" (or something like that because my mavericks is in french.
Unfortunately i get this error in system.log:
Application App:"font book" asn:0x0-39039 pid:415 refs=7 @ 0x7fb3f2642e40 tried to be brought forward, but isn't in fPermittedFrontApps ( ( "LSApplication:0x0-0x3c03c pid=421 "SecurityAgent"")), so denying. : LASSession.cp #1481 SetFrontApplication() q=LSSession 100004/0x186a4 queue
So, if someone could help me to bring forward "font book" & restore "font book" to the default apple fonts i would be happy.
Thank you.
MacBook, OS X Mavericks (10.9.1), 8gb

I had problems with fontbook as i was unable to restore the original DEFAULT mavericks fonts.
I decided to do it manually by copying my actual fonts to a backup folder on my desktop and replace them by the default fonts.
To do so:
- Open terminal
- diskutil mount Recovery\ HD
- hdiutil mount /Volumes/Recovery\ HD/com.apple.recovery.boot/BaseSystem.dmg
- Go to system > Libray > Fonts > Base
- open /library/fonts in another window
- move all files to a "old fonts" folder at the root of your HD.
- copy fonts files from system/Libray/Fonts/Base to /library/fonts Ensure the fonts are really in /library/fonts
- In terminal type: sudo atsutil databases -remove (to clean font cache)
