Change the email address for the Apple ID. You will need to remember the password, or reset it first. See: https://iforgot.apple.com. And if that doesn't help contact Apple Account Security: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5699. Keep in mind that the email address is only a user ID. It does not have to be a working email address.

I am a fan of restricting the rights of anyone (companies are "persons" in the US) to have the sort of control over my representation and information chatted about here ...

"Go to the Apple legal page and read the terms of use you agreed to when you created your AppleID in the first place." is a well made point ... but it shouldn't be like that and only with enough people asking for a change will it change.

South Park did a great episode on this ... Season 15 HUMANCENTiPAD.

At the moment I am helping someone who wrote their email address wrongly ... @....com.aul ... when creating an ID. The system didn't recognise that "aul" isn't an email ending for country. It's a nightmare.

Keep asking the question "How can i delete my apple-ID" of Apple ... it matters. It is your choice to delete, it is just that Apple doesn't want to recognise it as your choice ... I know, I know, "when is a choice not a choice?"

The problem for me in this is that Apple puts a sour taste in my mouth about their company, and therefore its products. there is already a pall over the company for questions about paying Tax (here in Australia) and using child labour ... even if these things aren't true, popular opinion is swayed by such.

Making it a right to control your information would go some way towards rehabilitating their reputations in my eyes.

Can anyone help me.  My Husband and i both had an iphone 4 but when we upgraded i got a iphone 5 and he changed to a samsung galaxy s3 i now cannot text my husband!!!  it sends an imessage to no-one!!

His Iphone was restored to factory setting and sent to recycling company but i still have the problem.  He kept his phone number the same and it doesn't seem to disconnect the number from the apple ID.

Can anyone help as i really do need to be able to text my Husband. i can wait for it to fail and then choose send text option but this becomes very irritating.

    Any help would be appreciated

He needs to call Apple support. They can cancel the iMessage registration that he forgot to remove from the phone before switching. It's a simple procedure that just takes a minute.

As you have never posted before none of us users have a clue as to what you are talking about.

What is Apple charging you for? There is no fee for having an Apple ID. If you owe money you cannot get out of it by deleting your ID. But you can deactivate it if the balance is zero by simply removing the payment method.

They charged me the $24.99 or whatever the past 2 years to renew the icloud each year when i havent had an apple device since 2012. They charged me in January of 2013 then I called and they undid it and it charged me again the nex month. Same thing in 2014 and each time I cann and explain they fix it, and then it happens again.

So call Apple support and get it resolved. Every company in the world makes billing errors.

The iCoud service is not dependant on havng an iDevice as  always access your iCloud from iCloud.com on any computer if you need to.

But yes, contact iTunes billing and have them cancel the iCloud subscription.

I wish to delete my Apple ID because when I try to update my information such as my phone number it is says it is invalid. I have had the same phone number for 15 years and use it everywhere so it is not invalid.

Basically the Apple website is malfunctioning so my ID must be deleted since Apple cannot provide the service they promise.

Please read the responses here. You cannot do this. If you are having trouble with your iTunes account, then contact iTunes support. This is a user to user support forum, and no one here could help you with what you are asking. http://www.apple.com/emea/support/itunes/contact.html

You cannot use iMessage with other brands of phones. iMessage is exclusive between apple iphone users with at least IOS 5

Incorrect; if I want to change a new AppleID over to anotehr email address that was being used with an old AppleID, I have perfectly good reasoning to do it. Clearly Apple does not allow this, which is wrong as I might lose access to the current email as it was provided by my employer, and I should not have to make another email just to switch the account over. #AppleFail

I realize this is an old topic, but call AppleCare and they can delete your Apple ID.
