Q: Mid 2011 iMac Airplay Mirroring Issue

Hello all,

I have a Mid 2011 iMac running OS X Lion 10.7.5 (11G63) and am trying to get Airplay Mirroring working with my Apple TV.

From what I am able to see on the apple site this iMac should allow AirPlay mirroring, however when I look at my System Preferences Display I cannot see the check box to switch on the AirPlay Mirroring... kind of failing at the first hurdle.

Does anyone have any ideas on anything else I can try/do?

Mirroring requires Mountain Lion 10.8.

Aha! That would do it then

I guess I'll go search how to upgrade then (since the Update Software doesn't come up with anything).

Software Update only looks at your current OS and will not "upgrade" it until you intervene.
Look at the App Store application to see if you can move up to 10.9.2 Mavericks (free).

Just found it (it is free), I'll try it when I have some more time to do a backup/install etc.
