Q: turn off apple remote control from my macbook pro

If you want, you can disable the IR port in order to be able to stop control your computer with the Apple Remote. To do it, open System Preferences > Security & Privacy > General > Advanced, and mark "Disable remote control infrared receiver"

I don't have that option on my macbook. is there any other option to remove the remote? my macbook pro is 10.7.5

Once you're where mende1 suggested, click the lock and enter your password, then click the Advanced button on the lower right. It's in there.
