Q: my son and I share the same Itunes account. Now that he is older, I'd like to separate our accounts. He would keep the current account name and I would create a new account, but want to take my songs with me and delete them from the original account. Ca

My son and I share the same iTunes account. Now that he is older, I wish to separate the accounts. How can I do create a new account for me (taking my songs) and leave him with the existing account minus my music?

iMac, OS X Mavericks (10.9.2), updated 2008 iMac to OS X 10.9.2

You can create a new account : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2731

Or if you don't want to give credit card details : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2534

But you can't transfer any purchases between accounts, they will remain tied to the account that bought/downloaded them.
