Jan 20, 2012 9:16 AM in response to sachawardby MadLawzy,I'm a new user to iPhone and got this after the phone had been on continuously for a week. I turned it off and back on again, and one of the three messages in the outbox automatically got sent after start up. Then the problem came back, so I rebooted again. The next two went without issue and I've just sent a test message that went without a problem too. Hopefully it won't come back!

Jan 25, 2012 11:28 AM in response to sachawardby THanagami,I'm having the same issue with my AOL mail. It's worked fine up until a few days ago...now I can't seem to send an email from my iPhone4. Very frustrating!

Feb 24, 2012 12:42 AM in response to sachawardby C.m.taylor,Having the same issue with a gmail account on ipad2 mail app. The following suggests have bee given to me...
1) delete mail account and reload it. Tried, but did not resolve.
2) do a reset on the device. Again, didn't work.
My issue seems to particularly affect large emails, so those with attachments or quote levels. Typically, emails i send which are new conversations, ie just my message in them, tend to get through. But most replies get stuck with the error reported by the others here.
Come on apple! This stuff should just work!!

Aug 17, 2012 5:41 AM in response to MadLawzyby MadLawzy,Here's an update to my original post...
I've been having this problem on and off since I've had my phone in January. I think I've figured it out. The mails fail to send when they have attachments or have a lot of embedded images, so therefore if they're over a certain size - and they only do it when I'm on wifi. When I'm on a 3G signal they send no problem. It must be something to do with a size limit I guess. Now I know I can work around it, I'm happy!

Aug 19, 2012 2:53 PM in response to sachawardby Speedymkuk,I have found that by checking that the "name" of the email account is the same as the part of the email address before the "@" sign it works to send and recieve emails on aol account

Jan 31, 2013 9:04 AM in response to maryln1256by Jungyst,Tried the suggested fixes but I am still in 'Outbox' ****. Funny, I never had a problem until I installed the latest system update. A shame that Apple will only help if they are paid for service calls. I would like to see a better corporate responsibility for the customers that made them so very wealthy.

Feb 5, 2013 2:41 PM in response to sachawardby ThomasTharakan,Hi All,
Think I found the issue.
When you set up the email while typing in the email id the description gets populated automatically.
Change this to be the email without the '@' symbol and anything after that.
Do the same for the name of the account
For example:
abcdefg
password
abcdefg
This should resolve the issues. I tested this for aol id and this works perfectly.
Do try this and let me know if this works.

Mar 7, 2014 5:20 AM in response to sachawardby Kcoqsmom,I tried everything suggested. Here is what worked....log into your aol account with your home computer. Try to send an email. It will fail, too. But, it will link you to a spam check where you have to log in and enter the code provided. Once you do that, all will be well in your world...and on all your systems. Good luck!
