Jan 10, 2014 5:31 AM in response to SputnikTechnologiesby mayerbci,Thanks! Great catch. For me I was using Fusion and moving to the 2nd monitor and then quickly down to the Windows task bar. Now I know what not to do. Thanks again!

Jan 15, 2014 7:53 AM in response to SputnikTechnologiesby Willjjv,Another high five to Sputnik. This has been driving me nuts for weeks since installing Mavericks. At least dragging the mouse down on the monitor you want the dock on is the quickest way to remedy this. I agree, this needs to be a preference, or a better way to toggle.

Feb 1, 2014 1:12 PM in response to Felix Hernandezby marcus_b,I have found by dargging the the cursor at the bottom of the screen you can make the dock appear on which ever screen the cursor is on ..... I am sure this is meant to what it does ...but it for a while it really confused me ...!!

Mar 3, 2014 11:36 AM in response to Felix Hernandezby NYC Jim,This is a terrible bug, not a "feature"! I use my 2nd monitor for photo editing, and every time I use a control near the bottom of the window, the stupid Dock flies over to the 2nd screen, and covers-up the controls I'm trying to use. Then I have to mouse over to the main Mac monitor, and do a little chicken dance at the bottom of that screen until the Dock decides to go back where it belongs. I wonder if the people at Apple ever tried using a full screen app on the 2nd monitor? You really do need the menu bar for that app on the 2nd screen, but not the Dock. The only setting provided freezes both the Dock and the Menu back on the main display. This is a clear case of design without real user feedback. PLEASE fix this Apple.

Mar 7, 2014 5:19 AM in response to Felix Hernandezby dipakcg,Here is the steps I followed to fix this problem (it's a feature actually)
[1] Minimize all the open windows
[2] Click on the center part of the menu (top) of the screen in which you want Dock to be appreared (no matter it's first, second or third)
[3] Simply move your cursor to the bottom of that screen
...Dock should appreared in that particular screen.
I hope this helps!

Mar 9, 2014 6:44 AM in response to Felix Hernandezby GaryChan,I have the same problem. Drives me nuts because I use a VM Fusion in the second window and when I use the Windows task bar, Mac Dock jumps in the way.
Solution, go to Dock Properties and have it go to left (for me) or right instead of bottom. It locks on the leftmost or rightmost position of both monitors - so it always stays in the same place. This is less annoying than jumping around.

Mar 23, 2014 7:48 AM in response to SputnikTechnologiesby emarino,Thank you SputnikTechnologies for the info. Although it was annoying when it appeared to randomly occur, I like the option, again thanks for enlightening us.

Mar 26, 2014 7:34 AM in response to emarinoby Petah.in.TX,So, Apple, if you read this thread: a great enhancement would be to provide the ability to lock the dock on to a specific monitor (in a multi monitor setup). Then those of us who want a mobile dock could have one, and those who don't have a way of turning it off.

Apr 15, 2014 10:30 AM in response to Felix Hernandezby Wayne from Maine,Sputnik really had the best answer. Even if the dock moves seemingly unexpectantly to get it back is quite easy. As he noted, just take your cursor and drive it down (i.e. with a bit of a brisk movement) down to the bottom center of the display where you want it to appear. With a little practice you can make it appear in any of the displays that you have up and running.
Thanks, Sputnik, this was a great help to me.

Apr 21, 2014 11:35 AM in response to Wayne from Maineby sholsinger,That helps, it does seem like you need to have the mouse start at a position > 50% of the way up the screen. Although I've found that sometimes it doesn't work if the mouse moves horizontally over a certain threshold.
A real solution from Apple might be to make this behavior separate from the checkbox to allow monitors to have spaces as I really don't want it but I really do want the rest of the features that come with it. Other users have shown that it is a hindrance in some use cases.
