Mar 9, 2014 1:42 PM in response to cruserby randers4,Go to Settings>iCloud>Storage & Backup>Manage Storage and look at the bottom. How much space does it say you have available?
Then tap the name of your phone under Backups. What does it say your Next Bakup Size is (first wait for the spinning wheel next to Backup options to stop)?

Mar 9, 2014 1:59 PM in response to cruserby randers4,It sounds like evidence of a broader problem with communication with your iCloud account, which may also be the root cause of your inability to back up to iCloud.
You should probably try deleting the account from your phone, then signing back in. To do this, start by saving your photo stream photos to your camera roll (unless already there) by opening your my photo stream album, tapping Select, tapping the photos, tap the share icon (box with upward facing arrow), then tapping Save to Camera Roll. Then go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, and provide your password and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted. Then sign back in. (This only deletes the account and iCloud data from your phone, not from iCloud. Your iCloud data will download back to your phone when you sign back in.)
