Q: I have a used MacBook Pro from "late 2008" 15 inch.  I have an Apple TV set up but I have just learned that in order to use the AirPlay mirroring function, the MacBook Pro which I have will not "support" the AirPlay Mirroring function.  Any ideas?

Does anybody have any ideas as to how to use the Airplay Mirroring function with a MacBook Pro 15 inch from late 2008, with an Apple TV?  I have updated the MacBook Pro to the very latest operating system (Mavericks) but I cannot manage to make the AirPlay Mirroring icon appear in the status bar at the top of the screen.  Any ideas?
