Q: Mavericks Mail App and Gmail folders

I have installed Mavericks on my MBA.  Now in the mail app, when I drag messages from the inbox to a gmail folder, they leave the inbox.  But if I click off of the inbox and then click back on it - they reappear in the inbox.

Anyone else having this problem?

MacBook Air, OS X Mavericks (10.9)

Csound1, Which settings in particular would you like to know about? The Gmail settings, Mail.app settings?

The settings you use, in Mail, for Gmail.

Can I have the SMTP settings as well? (But the Imap settings are correct as far as I can see) you left out SSL status and ports in use.

    Let's do this again.

Take a screenshot of the Imap (incoming) and the SMTP (outgoing) settings in full. Please obscure any personal information that appears. Post the screenshot here.

If you click on the little box (in the first picture) labelled 'Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP)' it will reveal a menu, choose 'Edit SMTP Server List' and a dialog will open, 2 pages containing the SMTP server settings. Post both pages please.

Also, run the Connection Doctor (Window Menu) with details on, post a shot of that as well

Well, on the back of those settings and the Connection Doctor report your account is working normally, but clearly it isn't. Can you verify that it is correctly set on any other devices and also, when one client (Mac) says a piece of mail is read and another says that it is not, which one does the GMail website agree with?

The Web site always agrees with the fact that a client (Gmail iOS app, iOS Mail, or Mail.app) has marked a message as read, archived, or deleted. Mail.app, however, never reflects the new status of messages it's received and that are in the inbox and that have been dealt with elsewhere unless the message has been deleted in another client or on the Web site. New messages do come into Mail.app, but old e-mail messages that have been archived or read anywhere but Mail.app remain in the inbox and marked unread. All clients and gmail.com are in sync except Mail.app.

Delete the account from Internet Accounts, check that it has been fully removed from Mail as well.

    reboot

In Internet Accounts use the automatic account setup and put the Gmail account back.

I'd done that (and more) previously. Just did it again. No change. As the screenshot depicts, a test e-mail from another account sits in the inbox, unread. I've read and archived the message at gmail.com but Mail.app doesn't reflect the action.

What happens if you synchronize manually, does it work then?

Nothing syncs it except quitting and reopening.

No more ideas then, good luck.
