Q: Faces from iPhoto for setting a contact picture not working (Mavericks bug?)
The expected way how to use Faces for getting a picture of a person to a Card in Contacts is described here:
http://support.apple.com/kb/PH15074
However, since I updated from 10.8.5 to 10.9.1 this does not work for me any more. Contacts does not allow to set a "contact picture" by selecting Faces.
My iMac is at 10.9.1 with iPhoto 9.5.1 and Contacts 8.0
Although there are more than 200 Faces defined in iPhoto that are linked to a Contacts Card (and which contain an unique Email address that is displayed in iPhoto), in Contacts there is only the message displayed:
"Loading Faces ...", and then (after quite some time):
"Find and organize photos of people in iPhoto or Aperture using Faces".
I did some of the obvious things:
- trashed /Users/USERNAME/Library/Preferences/com.apple.AddressBook.plist
opened iPhoto with Alt+Cmd pressed an
- let iPhoto do Repair Permissons,
- let iPhoto do Rebuild Thumbnails,
- let iPhoto do Repair Database,
- let iPhoto do Rebuild Database.
After each action, I checked if Contacts would offer me Faces for selection, but nothing did solve the problem.
Any ideas?
Or is there a bug in Mavericks that kills this option?
