my 4s ios 7.1 in wifi not worked

Wi-Fi greyed out

Hi, I have the exact same problem with my ipad of one year past...

Before, 7.0.6, no problem at all with my wifi ipad.

With 7.0.6, the wifi won't activate some times and few times, yes...

I make the 7.1 update to try to correct this problem but now it's happen all the times and I can't activate at ALL the wifi with the description : "Wifi not available"

I already tried to restore my ipad, reset network settings, reset settings... With my android phone, I can connect to the wifi without ANY problem so the ipad is really the main problem

What can I do more ?

It seems we are a lot of guys experiencing this problem...

I have got the same problem although it worked after the 7.1 upgrade, sudenly tonight my iOS devices decided not to connect to WiFi at all...

It doesn't look good and it's making me wanting right now a Nexus so badly....

My 7.1 upgrade went fine on iphone 4s

But on my daughter's 4S: wifi immediately dead as soon as ios 7.1 finished installing. I've been through all the help docs on this and other forums - no joy. What are the odds that this is a hardware error as opposed to something caused by the new system soft?

I too discovered the grayed out wifi after my update to 7.1 on my 4S, however I did a search myself. On a Canadian website they recommended the following:

I did this and then the following:

After taking it out of the refrigerator I then put it in "Airplane" mode, then did a hard shut down by pushing the off button and home button simultaneously, waiting until the apple logo reappears. Then my wifi showed up, I moved the button to wifi and then turned off "Airplane" mode. This worked for me after weeks of not having wifi.

I hope this helps someone else who is just as frustrated as I was.

I have several IOS devices and updated each of them to Apple's release of IOS 7.1.

Unfortunately my iPhone 4s did not update successfully. It was affected by the widely reported issue regarding WiFi being disabled permanently. After the update to IOS 7.1, wifi is no longer an accessible option on the IPhone 4s.

After doing some online research and identifying this as a common problem, I tried some of the suggestions available online such as resetting settings and restoring from backup. None of these suggestions worked.

I brought the iPhone 4s to the apple store at the Rideau Center in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada and spoke to one of the employees. He stated that it was not an apple issue and that it was a problem with my phone that would cost $200 to resolve. He said that it was not a problem related to the ios 7.1 update and that it was a "coincidence" that it happened at the same time as the update to ios 7. 1 and was probably an issue with the wifi chip.

It is surprising to me that applying an update recommended by apple and using the iPhone 4s in the manner in which it was designed (using wifi) would cause this basic function (wifi) to cease to function.

Wifi is an essential part of my day to day use of this device. I am appalled that apple is denying the problem and has no resolution for it.

If anyone else this problem, please go to your nearest apple store and let this forum know your experience in getting the issue resolved.
