Mar 15, 2014 9:11 AM in response to Linc Davisby priyesh0904,Suppose I am downloading something. Now I want to leave my mac ideal for sometime but want the download to go on. But after set time out period it goes into sleep mode. Sleep mode gets activated if the mac is ideal but in this case there is a download going on so it should not go into sleep mode unless it is done manually. This issue can be addressed by simply extending the set time out. But suppose I want to leave my mac for sometime and want the download to go on. Normally what anyone would do is turn off the display or lock the display and NOT put or let the mac enter sleep mode. So as soon as I lock the screen or turn the display of the laptop disconnects from the WIFI network and the download stops. I have actually seen the WIFI reconnecting and the download resuming when I wake the display. Most important thing to note here is that the mac is not in sleep mode just the display is turned off.
Any suggestions as to prevent this from happening?
Thanks

Mar 15, 2014 10:26 AM in response to priyesh0904by Linc Davis,★HelpfulSome applications will prevent sleep while downloading, other won't. There is no separate setting for display sleep and system sleep, as there was in older versions of OS X. If you haven't already done so, enable Power Nap, which may address some of your concerns.
