Try going to Settings/Mail,Contacts, calendars/Yahoo Account. Enter password in required field. This solved my connection problem

I've been struggling with this problem and tried everything everybody was suggesting, nothing worked. Then I tried changing the setting from "Push" to "fetch" and bam! it worked, must have sopmething to do with too many e-mails on the server.

Yahoo mail made me change my password.  I did on my PC.  Took me a while to remember I had to change it on my Iphone too.  Duh.  They could have a little more specific error message.

I have yahoo, google, outlook, and my school account (exchange) on my iphone and I deleted all of them and then reimported them one by one to see which one was getting that message. It was my outlook account so I am just keeping that one off of my phone for now because that seemed to stop the message from popping up.

I've tried doing all the things suggested problem still persists sporadically.    Interesting observation, I don't have this problem over cellular data ATT LTE.  I am using IP5s with 7.1 beta 5 on a dual band 802.11n router. Using outlook.com email service.

    Same here,

After upgrading to 7.1 I'm getting this message sporadically, I then turn off wifi for a minute to retrieve mail and turn it back on. All other devices are working fine with the wifi.

    Any suggestions?

My issue was all inclusive with with my iPad, iPhone, and Mail on my Desktop and MacBook. I had to go to My Yahoo! Account Info under Sign-in and Security there is a Manage Your App Passwords. From there I had to input a separate password for each individual device. The only exception is Mail on my desktop and laptop use the same password. Now they all work.

In my case I had to input a password for three items, iPhone, iPad, and Computers. This password is in addition to the standard Yahoo! or My Yahoo! password. It's all very confusing and just happened out of the blue. It may be due to me having Yahoo! Plus.

    Hope this helps

I tried all of the things in discussion post and it did not work. i tried turning ti airplane mode anad then back on. did not work. i tried deleting and re-entering information. did not work.

what did work was deleting the acount. turn the phone off and then back on. re-add the account, and suddenly the same server was found.

    regardless it works now.

ipad didnt have a problem it just connected fine. guess it was a glitch somewhere.

    @threezacharm33

same thing happened to me. i got a text from yahoo saying to change my password due to suspicious activity.  probably the heartbleed issue.  i changed my password on my comp.  i changed my password to my yahoo mail on my iphone. got the same thing you did.  logging in through my comp works with the new password.  i cahnged the password in the pop up box AND in the setting -> mail option.

tried deleting the account and readding.  same problem.

deleted account -> reboot phone -> readd mail account.  same problem.

funny thing, it works for my OTHER yahoo account that i changed the password to.

@missjazeeboo it worked for my other mail acc too but on my main not. Follow these steps guys:

    1. First step is to delete your main account, then press Add Account - >Yahoo. Complete that steps even if says service unavailable because you will recieve an email and that's on the step two.

    2. Go to your mail by accessing it from pc, mac and you must recieve an email from Yahoo Account Services (Yahoo sign alert).

    3. Click on that email and open that blue link named : app-specific password. Log into your email and in that field named Generate app passwords, complete with this: My iPhone mail, click Generate Password and after this it will appear a code like this one : ixnwhxpasdobwcgvor. Save it where it's easier for you and click Ok.

    4. Close your mail app from the iphone, go again in Mail, Contacts, Calendars. If your mail is there, delete it and if it's not just go to Add Account - > Yahoo, add your name, username and at password enter that code u saved. Press next and you are done with this.

If this doesen't work, change your email password and do these steps again.
