Q: I recently updated to 7.1 and now it says the parental controls are stopping me from doing in-app purchases. I have disabled restrictions but nothing changes. What is going on?

Need help to figure out why I cannot do in-app purchases when my restrictions are disabled.

iPad, iOS 7.1

    Hello Nnanu,

It sounds like you have disabled restrictions altogether and you are still unable to make in app purchases. I recommend starting by signing out of your account in iTunes and App Stores in Settings on your phone. Then close all the running apps:

iOS: Force an app to close

    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht5137

    Double-click the Home button.

Swipe left or right until you have located the app you wish to close.

Swipe the app up to close it.

When you have done that and restart the phone and test the issue again, you will be asked to sign back into your account:

iOS: Turning off and on (restarting) and resetting

    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1430

If the issue persists I would next use the following article to help troubleshoot the app:

iOS: An app you installed unexpectedly quits, stops responding, or won’t open

    http://support.apple.com/kb/ts1702

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.

    Regards,

    Sterling
