First off, unless your keyboard caps lock key is stuck, please dispense with using ALL UPPERCASE.   Any communication on the internet with ALL UPPERCASE is considered shouting, and is normally ignored by most internet users because it is considered rude, and is hard to read.

Secondly it would help to know your Canon Camera model to find out if their software is in fact supported on Mac OS X 10.5.4 the operating system in your signature, or 10.6, the forum you posted the question about.    Most cameras support capture on either operating system through the Image Capture software Apple includes with all Macs.  A version of iPhoto compatible with your operating system may also help to know:

Lastly if your camera supports RAW, Apple issued RAW updates for 10.6:

And 10.5 which are camera specific:

    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1475

Being you have a Mac Pro, you should at least update to 10.5.8 or 10.6.8 to be able to get the latest camera updates for those operating systems, after backing up your data, and shutting down your Mac and disconnecting the backup:

    http://support.apple.com/kb/DL866 - 10.5.8 free for 10.5.0 through 10.5.7

    http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1399 - 10.6.8 free for 10.6.0 through 10.6.7

Updating to 10.6 from 10.5 is not free, but not inexpensive, and offers better Java support, though may not be as compatible with your software as 10.5.4:
