Q: Can i back up only iTunes ?
I need to erase and install the OS X in my mac and before that i need to back up my itunes so that i can restore it later on.
I dont need any of the other data or Apps in my mac and need only the itunes lybrary. I presume with Time machine i can do an entire back and and later on get them all in to the mac. But can i back up my itunes alone and restore it later?
Mac Pro, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.1)

Yes it will. The iTunes folder contains various support files and folders, including the library.itl file which contains a list of all the media you have in your collection as well as playlists.
