Q: Where is air play icon? Was there on my iPad 4 before last upgrade! How do I get it back this page does NOT give the answer

Since upgrading my iPad to 7.1 the air play icon is not displayed in the control centre or on any relative app, ie photos videos. Apple site as useful as a chocolate fire guard, just keeps saying it should be there. Well Apple it ain't.

Any help please will be appreciated.

I got the same problem, but on my iPhone 5s.

I used to have airplay after the iOS 7.1 but today while I was watching YouTube using airplay

    it just disconnected and disappeared.

Try to reboot your iPad by pressing and holding down the (home & power buttons) at the same time for 10 - 15 seconds until you see the apple logo.

Thats what I did and it worked.

    I hope this is helps

If you don't see the AirPlay icon in the Control Center:

    1. Turn off router, Apple TV and iPad

    2. Turn on router and then wait 30 seconds for it to complete start-up process

    3. Turn on Apple TV and then wait 30 seconds for it to complete start-up process

    4. Turn on iPad and test AirPlay

Updating and turning off Apple TV solved the problem thanks. The air play symbol reappeared on iPad, iPhone 5 and iPhone 4s within seconds. I do think a hint or help from apple themselves should have been given as from far as I can see the problem was caused by upgrading to ios7!!!

If you do not see the airplay icon where you should chances are that the airplay device is no longer connected to your Wi-Fi network. As suggested previously turn off all devices on the network, reboot the router, then turn things back on.
