Q: camera and USB connection kit

I just bought a CCK for my iPad 2 16 Mgb to transfer photos from my camera SD Card. I was wondering if I could also solve my perennial photo storage problems by storing photo albums on a USB device and plugging it into the iPad when I want to view on screen? If so, is there any particular size, make or type of USB I should use?

You need to transfer them to the iPad before you can view them.
