Q: Windows Stuck In Akward Positions After Maverick Update

It started with Firefox: when I start it up or open a new window, the windows are collapsed as small as they can be, with the window positioned with the top left corner slightly off screen so I can't get at the round colored window buttons, and when I try to move the window anywhere else, it pops back into position. Now it's happening in iPhoto too. I open the iPhoto preferences pane, and it's stuck up there in that akward position, and I can't get it to move anywhere else without it popping back up there. Sometimes it does it, sometimes it doesn't. I haven't changed anything or installed any apps or utilities, only the Maverick update.

MacBook, OS X Mavericks (10.9), 4GB ram

For me the consistent solution (after trying many of the suggestions in this thread) involved going to System Preferences > Display and changing Resolution from 'Scaled' to 'Best for display'. I'm using a BenQ screen via HDMI on a Mac Mini 2012. HTH someone.

Is this issue fixed in 10.9.2?

    It might be fixed.

I have not had the problem since 10.9.2.

Note that I can't guarantee that the update fixed it for me, as my system drive was corrupted right after updating to 10.9.2 when I tried to troubleshoot Finder lag (10sec hangs when browsing folders). So, I wiped the drive, started from scratch with a clean install of 10.9 from a thumbdrive and then onto 10.9.2.

So, for me on a clean install with 10.9, upgrade to 10.9.2 and the same apps running, I have not seen the anomaly.

No not fixed. My iMac with second monitor still has all the apps open in weird positions and sizes, off screen. Some of them I cant resize they jump back offscreen, have to close and reopen them. So thats still happening to me. Amazing how long this issue has been happening and Apple not fixed it yet.
