Mar 21, 2014 3:37 AM in response to JDGinPSby a brody,Identify your Powerbook:
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3065
Also look in the battery door for any indication of how many Mhz/Ghz the machine is.
That will tell us how far you can upgrade.
If you have any data to recover, see this FAQ if you didn't make a backup:
https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-1689
And only get a data recovery tool that will boot into the operating system known to work with your machine, once we have identified it.

Mar 21, 2014 7:21 AM in response to a brodyby JDGinPS,I do not see any indication of the Mhz/Ghz in the batter door. I have attached pictures of the interior. Hope this helps. I do not, necessarily, want to recover any data. My intention was to only wipe existing data, and then use this older unit just for accessing the internet. Since I could access the wireless network before the wipe, it did not occur to me that I would not be able after the reinstall. Thanks

It is obviously the 80 GB hard drive model that came with 512MB of RAM.
This means any data recovery tool that comes with 10.4 PowerPC system should work with it.
The 10.3.7 installer you have is strictly for that machine and can't be used with any other.
