Q: iOS 7 keep turned off my iCloud settings and asking my password

Hi,

I upgrade to iOS 7 the day before yesterday. Everything's fine until yesterday's morning. When I received a text message, I found it's shown under the tel number, rather than names from my contact list. Then I found all my setting in iCloud were turned off. I turned them on, and everything's fine after that. But today, it turned off all my settings again and stars to keep asking me sign-in my iCloud account. I checked my iCloud account settings, it seems correct for me. I can correctly get all the informations from iCloud. But it just keep asking my passwords...

Any ideas about this?

Thanks very much in advance,

Hello, Morac. I am so sorry to hear that iOS 7.1 did not solve the issue. I had high expectations and I see they have been destroyed. Have you tried backing up your device and installing iPhone as new for a whole day after that try and restore from your iPhone. I wish that I could furthur assist you in solving this issue, when I had it it was very annoying.

The problem is happening on my iPad and I'm not going to set it up as new and lose everything with the hope that it might somehow magically fix the problem.  My guess is the problem is triggered by having lots of apps installed and using apps that use a large amount of memory and also use Game Center, iCloud, Facebook, Twitter, etc.

Setting up the device as new might solve the problem in the short run by removing all the apps, but as apps are added again I fully expect the problem will return since setting up as new doesn't solve the underlying issue, which is that older devices don't really have enough memory to running iOS 7.x reliably.

If you have an older device you basically have two choices:

    1. Don't use any memory intensive apps that use Apple's iCloud/Game Center/Facebook/etc APIs.

    2. Restart the device often.  The more apps you run, the more often you need to restart.  I've found once a day is usually sufficient on my iPad 2.  A good test for this is to run a game that uses Game Center.  If the Game Center notification takes more than about 5 to 10 seconds to show up after starting the game (or never shows up), it's time to restart.  If you get a login prompt for anything (Game Center, iCloud, Facebook, etc), restart immediately to prevent further "damage".

I understand what you're saying, but I am letting you know that the problem can be fixed as I have soleved it. What I suggested was to backup your data and use the phone as new and if the problem is resolved then you can restore from your backup. Either way this may not solve your issue so its best to do what your doing now.

Strange it seems that Ios 7.1 has fixed the issue for my IPhone 4s and Ipad 2. I even stress tested the Ipad for the last day. My icloud settings don't turn off anymore and my Ipad 2 is generally faster. I do use gamecentre, icloud, hayday, pages etc lots of memory intensive apps that would trigger the problem in the past.

Provisional results: iOS 7.1 is everything what it supposed to be. Better said, iOS 7.0.x was their worst release ever. My iPhone 4S is much faster in response, a lot of visual bugs are solved and most important iCloud seems to be stable! Footnote: as announced I did a complete fresh installation and didn't restore a single item. Faith (partially) restored!

Thanks Mkoeneman for the feedback, I am glad iOS 7.1 got you back on your tracks Hopfully that partially will soon turn into a 100% positive.

    And the problem persists :(

Repeated iCloud setting changing, with no user involvement....

Just waiting for all my Contacts and Calendar entries to go....

Oh well, looks like I if I want a stable mobile OS my next phone will be an Android :(

    Sorry Apple, you have FAILED!

    Hello all, again.

Still, no problems before & after updating, I have no problems whats so ever.

Ya guys gotta reset somthing that a certain profile/settings (.kext file or somthing) is currupting your OS.

had this problem about a month bewteen 2 weeks before 7.0.4 released and 2 weeks after 7.0.4 released.

Good as a watchdog on guard. My device to so smooth and easy handling al the features & the effects that 7.1 has to offer. I do remeber at first when 7 was very sluggished. they rushed bc of 5S & 5C.

I don't even understand why release a phone when the OS isn't perfect entact when they did for several months of BETA they did with 7.1 that's the real IOS 7.0 right there.

They should really hold off until the following year or wait till xmass rush  & by then, the IOS is really ready.

Just like how Riley Testus did with GBA4IOS 2.0. Started somwhere before September 10, 2013

Witch was gonna be released around in Oct-Nov then about Jan- Feb then looked like at the end of Feb to March but he decided it is really good to be realeased so decided Feb 18.

Makes the app better than the OS with alot of intergration in that short almost impossible to do what with intergration like download withn a hidden browser. Smooth and ease when it first came out without any lags like lag animation and such how ios7 1st came out whitch Apple shouldv'e done a better job if it wasn't for newer iDevices. GBA4IOS future of a possible blutooth or wifi Pokemon battles.

GBA4IOS can also run SNES, played Mario Cart 64 on it.

To me, since 7.1 has been in beta since after 7.0, they did do a better job since releasing it. Even thou its an OS that runs the device whitch makes it abit harder since the new redesign and such.

Hopfully they learn there lesson but for IOS 8 and above, just have to wait & see.

I'll mention that the problem does seem to happen less under iOS 7.1 and I have yet to see iCloud actually fully turn itself off so I haven't lost contacts and the like, but I have seen "Find my iPad" turn off twice and iOS 7.1 has only been out less than a week.  Having "Find my ..." turn itself off is completely unacceptable.   I don't know why Apple refuses to fix this.

Well I posted that too soon.  I just enabled "Bold Text" on my Ipad 2, which causes it to "reboot" (but not really, it just resprings).  After it booted up everything was gone, despite iCloud showing as being on and active.  I lost all notes, calendars (even non-iCloud ones), contacts, etc.

I had to restart my iPad to get them back.  They really were gone since I had to re-setup the rings tones and the like.

Me again. I also posted too soon, but it said 'provisional' and 'partially restored'. The last past days iCloud started again to ask for the password a couple of times but without change in settings. When just now GameCentre asked for the password, I typed it 100% correct and the cannot connect error occured I knew for sure this time FindMyPhone was disabled. And I was correct!

So i'm also waiting for the time my contact will disappear again. So the clean install doesn't changes anything, only maybe some storage space. I still think 7.1 is a step in the right direction, but definately still not out of the swamp I guess!!! Tip: Also submit your problem to http://www.apple.com/feedback/icloud.html

Can everyone who is on iOS 7.1 and still having issues go into settings general and reset all settings. So

Settings > > General > Reset > Reset All Settings

Those who have done a clean install and still having this issue disregard this message. Those who have done a clean install and are still despreat you can try a DFU restore, it is similiar to a iTune restore but it is not the same.

The problem is I already did a DFU restore the first time

I was hoping for a brand new error free start, but I'm still hopefull Apple will squeeze / squize / squash (what is the correct term?) this nasty bug!

I am also having problems losing contacts.

Yesterday I deleted some messages on my iphone (ios 6) and all my contacts disappeared.  Checked my ipad (ios 7.1) and they had also disappeared.

Went into viber  on my iphone and all my contacts showed, scrolled through them and then they mysteriously disappeared. Can't be an ios 7 glitch because as I say, my iphone is still on v6.

Iphone now vibrates shortly every 30 minutes or so for no reason so think it must be a cloud problem.
