Mar 7, 2014 12:54 PM in response to Ronj218by markies21,Sorry guys my bad - it doesn't work .. I just happened to be switching between 3G and 4G at the time of my "test call" and it went to voicemail ..
Still looking for a solution to this - the only one I can see is a third party app called "iBlacklist"

Mar 18, 2014 1:14 PM in response to Tom423by Robert.Love,This worked like a charm! Thanks so much, I can FINALLY stop these annoying "Unknown Caller" calls! I was getting them at least twice a day, and after I did what Tom423 said to do, the calls immediately stopped coming in. It's been quiet for over 3 weeks now! PEACE and QUIET!

Mar 18, 2014 4:25 PM in response to ovelez25by Ronj218,ok all set now I just have to wait and see if I get a unknown caller or no caller id. But it could be awhile. I get this company I bought an item now theycall back once a month to see if I want to buy another one I tell them no but they still call. I just have to play the waiting game and see if it ever happens again.

Mar 19, 2014 4:14 AM in response to Ronj218by Manic Marley,This also does not work, ive blocked No Caller ID and then i went and tried calling myself from my work phone and it still came through :-(

Mar 19, 2014 7:28 AM in response to Manic Marleyby Ronj218,Sorry to hear that. I was hoping it would work. If it can trigger unknown caller or no caller id then a simple app should be able to handle it, for 99 cents somebody could wind up with a lot of money for that app. Worth his time.

Mar 24, 2014 7:52 AM in response to Ronj218by Peter Pawinski,I'm pretty sure the official iPhone SDK doesn't allow access to that functionality, so if you're hoping for a blocking program to show up in the iTunes store, you're going to be waiting a long time indeed. If you don't mind jailbroken solutions, there's a program called iBlacklist which supposedly does what you want it to. However, I don't have a jailbroken phone, so I haven't tried it out.
This is a really frustrating problem and seems that programmatically it can be solved pretty easily with a "if (CallerID == "Unknown" || "Blocked) { Go to Voicemail } type construction. But, for whatever reason, either Apple or the iPhone developers just don't want to put it there. Maybe there is a very good reason for doing so, I don't know, but I can't think of what it could be. I am looking at my caller log and, literally, every single day for the last 10 days there's been at least one call from "Unknown," sometimes two. It's irritating as it comes and goes in cycles, I'm on the DNC list, and, for whatever reason, there is no "official" solution to what seems to be a trivial problem. Even AT&T at the carrier level does not offer a solution for unknown/blocked callers (and at the carrier level, calls are truly blocked, not sent to voicemail. I prefer the "send to voicemail" solution myself, just in case it is a legitimate call.)

Mar 24, 2014 9:48 AM in response to Robert.Loveby Peter Pawinski,How did you add this? I see no way to make a contact with "UnknownCaller" as the home phone number, whether I'm doing it manually or through my Recents list.

Mar 24, 2014 10:49 AM in response to Peter Pawinskiby Robert.Love,What you do is copy the "UnknownCaller" text from somewhere and then paste it in as the phone number. Good to go

Mar 24, 2014 10:53 AM in response to Robert.Loveby Peter Pawinski,Ah, clever idea. Let's see if it actually works. I cut & pasted "Unknown" from my Recent call log, and, when pasted into the phone number field, it came up as "UnknownCaller," just like in your picture. When I hit "Block Caller" it did seem to respond, and the option changed to "Unblock Caller". I'm crossing my fingers!

Mar 24, 2014 11:10 AM in response to Robert.Loveby Peter Pawinski,I should know by tomorrow, given the fact that "Unknown" has been calling me every day for the past ten days or so.

Mar 25, 2014 10:42 AM in response to Peter Pawinskiby Peter Pawinski,Oh, darn, I was so hopeful when 9:30 a.m. came and went, but I just got buzzed with "Unknown" on the ID. Harumph.... Back to the drawing board.

Mar 25, 2014 10:53 AM in response to Peter Pawinskiby Robert.Love,On your contact entry, try replacing anywhere "Unknown Caller" is at with "Unknown" since that is what is appearing on your ID when a call comes in. For me, "Unkown Caller" was always on my ID, so I used that in my contact entry.

Mar 25, 2014 10:56 AM in response to Robert.Loveby Peter Pawinski,I'll try that next. "Unknown" is what shows up when the call comes in. But when I got to "Recents" it shows "Unknown" on the number list, then "Unknown Caller" when you hit "info." I cut and pasted that. I tried it with a blocked caller ID yesterday (*67 from my landline) and couldn't work out a way to have it block the *67'd phone call. I'll try creating another contact for Unknown and see what happens.
