Mar 23, 2014 3:26 PM in response to Ch 79431by Colin Shapiro,★HelpfulI have Logic 7.2.1 running in OS 10.8.5, just for the record. If you can update your v7.1, you're definitely good to go. (Sorry - don't have 7.1 to test...)
In future, keep a copy of Logic 7.x to open old songs as Logic Pro X won't open early song versions.

Mar 24, 2014 1:47 PM in response to Colin Shapiroby Ch 79431,Thanks Colin........Thats good to know 7.2 runs with 10.8.......Maybe I'll try installing 7.1 with 10.6 and see what happens. I'm no further behind if it doesn't work, right ?
Is it possible to upgrade to 7.2 ? I thought you couldn't...
best
Brad

Mar 24, 2014 3:55 PM in response to Ch 79431by Colin Shapiro,I'm assuming you run Logic 7.1 in an earlier OS than 10.6
If you can, clone your boot drive first. Use something like Super Duper:
http://www.shirt-pocket.com/SuperDuper/SuperDuperDescription.html
Then update the clone to OS 10.6 and see if Logic runs.
OS 10.6 still runs Power PC apps. I can't remember which version of Logic became Universal.
Anyway, if it doesn't work in the updated clone drive, then stay as you are.
Was Logic 7.2 a paid upgrade? Long time ago....

Mar 24, 2014 5:08 PM in response to Ch 79431by Ch 79431,Yeah......I was running it on Tiger 10.4 with a G5 and it was great....never any problems.
Maybe i'll try the clone thing.....but I'm afraid my patience / skill at those type of things is not great.
We'll see........thanks again.
