Oh, I know. The thread was accurately and completely answered on page 1, but the "me too" posts aren't really looking for information, as they just wanna whine like little children.

:) can't deny that, but it's hard to tell who is suffering from who is just

Complaining. The hardware question was answered, the reason I'm lingering like a ghost (with unfinished business) :) is that I have paid apps that don't work anymore and no where on the App Store that I'm aware of, does it say that the apps have a lifespan if x years based on hardware. I get that some of that is just the nature of tech advancements and understood but it's not 1990, there can be continued hardware based upgrades for apps  or don't allow app updates at all, if you show me 1 update and I update, then I'm not the one to be blamed for my app not working because it was designed for iOS6. I'm not here because I want iOS 7 features on my iPad 1.

    Thank you Stedman1

This is what I call discussion and support from real people who want to help. I think now that my unfinished business has been taken care of, I can safely move on to the other side. Lol

Yep and the wise ones that really want to help, should be patient enough to understand read between the frustration  and complaints and coax out the right questions. :)

True. This is the first decent option I've seen in months... I mean, ever!, on this thread.k you for your kind

I deeply thank you for your kindnesS.

Clearly, community is much more sympathetic than Apple.

Neverthless, each time I look at my overpriced and luxurious iPad, I still feel sad and even robbed. I'm still very angry at Apple and will still be. Considering the alternatives market offers us nowadays (that were not available when my iPad was bought), I hope people make more clever and insightful purchases: avoiding gadgets that will be so outdated in such little time you will think that, after 10+ years of reliable performance, your PentiumII is the best computer you have ever seen,

:) the technical question was there, you looked past it unfortunately.

The only question I saw in your post was "how is that fair?".

Great. So my iPad has become an obsolete paperweight in 3 years. Wonderful. So now I'm supposed to go out and buy a new one.....that will also be obsolete in 3 years. No, actually less as its been awhile since apple made a new iPad. Guess again, apple (or should I say, lemon). I got an iPhone so that I could sync with my iPad. Unfortunately, that won't even work now. If apple had some sort of DECENT buy-back program where I got a decent discount on a new iPad, that would be one thing. But they don't. The return on my iPad1 is negligible. I see NO incentive to stay an apple customer. If I get a new tablet, it's going to be one of those Samsung ones. And an android phone. In fact, I would have to say that apple has given me an incredible DIS-incentive to stay with them. Nice business model you got there, lemon.

This all came about because I wanted to download some apps and I keep getting "your software is not compatible. Download ios6." Nothing like getting a message telling you to do something you CAN'T do. On the bright side, this all came out before I bought the Mac Air I was looking at. Glad I didnt waste my money on that lemon product too. Especially since I'm going to need the money for a Samsung tablet and Android phone.

Apple doesn't read these discussions. We're all just users like you. You can provide feedback to them at this link: http://www.apple.com/feedback

    Thank you, Amishcake.

That was very helpful and I will do that.

    Have a great day!

I'm sorry but your post doesn't make much sense in English. You may want to try posting again in your native language.

    Best of luck.

Well after years of people explaining why I should switch frm PC to apple I started with an Ipad. 3 years after buying it It is now useless....GR8

This is my first and last apple device. I have an samsung tablet that I also bought at the same time for one of my kids... it was cheaper and it till has full android Support. I think something you pay 700 for should not be obsolete in 3 years.. The kicker is the device its self works great the company just forced everyone to upgrade.

    Apple *****

Your Samsung probably works just as "great" as your iPad does. Your iPad works no less as well than it ever did. It just does not have the hardware to cope with some of the current software, which requires more facilities than it can offer. I suggest the same is true of any three year old tablet from any manufacturer. Does your Samsung run the latest version of Android?

Yes my samsung works just as good as the ipad just a different os.
Your correct my tablet has 4.0 and current version is 4.4 but I am still allowed access to apps. It does not have the latest release of Android neither does my kids thrive that also came out at the same time the ipad gen 1 did but I can still get any app I want for those devices.

What gets me is that the software for gen 1 ipads is still available the fact that apple will not allow users access to something like a gen 1 archive for a perfectly good piece of hardware gets to me. Ive already moved on but it would be nice if I could put games or something on it for my kids.

Either Android did a better job of software releases or Apple is juust greedy im going with the second because the only reason you cant get gen 1 software is because apple want to force users into a new device.

Bottom line I paid more for less with my ipad lesson learned
