Mar 29, 2014 4:33 AM in response to pinkelliceby Demo,You should be offered the app for free if you are using the same Apple ID to download Pages that you used to activate the device. If you are using the same Apple ID on the new iPad, then Pages should, be free as well.
Sometimes it takes some time before the app is offered to you, when I purchased my iPhone 5S in September, the apps appeared as free to me the next day after I activated the phone. It didn't happen the same day,
If you have had the iPad for a couple of days and still can't get if, try signing out of your ID, restart your iPad and sign in again, Settings>iTunes & App Store>Apple ID>Tap your ID and sign out.
Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Now go back to the iTunes and App Store setting and sign in again.
