Go to Calendar Preferences > Settings.  There is a checkbox for Time Zone Support.  I can't remember if it has to be checked or unchecked, but just change it and you should be good.

Thank Dessicator, I found exactly what you mentoned, and checked the box, that was "unchecked".

But now when I go back to USA will it reset the otherway. I moved eerything so it is basically as in CDT in MN. I operate a B and B and so it is vital that the bookings are accurate.

It's a bit confusing, as are time zones.

When you had time zone support off, it changed the time of an event as you crossed a time zone to show you what time the event would occur where you are (should have changed every time you crossed a time zone, not just the date line).  When you travel back to the original time zone, it would automatically change back.

With time zone support on, you have the option of setting what time zone an event is in when you create the event.  Every event should have time zone popup menu.  You can create events in Japan's time zone , but also for CDT.  Just make sure your MN events are listed with the CDT time zone and they will work.  You could turn it off at any time and they should still be correct when you are back home.

I am back in USA and I just noticed that my calendar was showing up as the Japanese date, on the dock. So I went to preferences and unclicked time support which moved all my information one day back. Same problem as I mentioned before, I operate a B and B so now all the reservations have moved. I have tried clicking and unclicking the time zone support and it does not seem to make any difference.

I just clicked "japan time zone" in the upper right hand pull down and happily it moved the items back to the date that I had put them in.

Do I just live with the dock date being wrong?
