Mar 31, 2014 1:41 PM in response to Jonhawkby KiltedTim,You put the phone in recovery mode and restore it as a new device. Unfortunately, if his Apple ID is set up on the phone and Find my iPhone is on, that will also cause Activation Lock to kick in, which will require the Apple ID and password used to lock it in order to re-activate. Without those credentials, it's a brick.
If you're lucky enough that his Apple ID is not set up for Find my iPhone, then put it into recovery mode and restore.
Do NOT restore your backup. The restriction settings are part of the backup. If you restore the backup, you're right back where you started.
