Q: Why is the iCloud junk filter NOT working?

I continue to move tons of spam email from "jetsetter", "Sears", "wowcher" and many others every day into the Junk folder in iCloud mail.  According to Apple, this is supposed to automagically set up a filter to mark these as junk and handle them accordingly.

Why do I continue to receive these same spam messages to my Inbox every day?  I do not have this problem on other services, only iCloud.  This has been going on as long as I can remember.

I would forward those emails to the spam reporting email address as well if you continue to receive them.

    iCloud automatic junk mail filtering

To minimize junk mail, iCloud uses techniques such as trend analysis, dynamic lists, and content filtering to automatically detect and block junk mail before it reaches your Inbox. However, no strategy for managing junk mail is 100% effective, so some junk mail may still reach your Inbox. The information below may help you reduce the amount of junk mail that you receive.

    • At iCloud.com, select the message, then click the flag icon and choose “Move to Junk”. Or just drag the message to the Junk folder in the sidebar.

    Reporting junk mail

Filtering junk mail at the server level is only part of the solution. You can complement iCloud's junk-mail filtering by manually reporting messages as junk. You can do this by forwarding a message as an attachment to spam@icloud.com. Learn more about managing junk mail.
