Jul 13, 2013 4:58 PM in response to ZOZ2112by senthil6726,Thank you. I had the same problem happened all of a sudden where I can not hear from the ear speaker. I tried all of them but only your fix where I had to push the speaker gently inwards to get it working. This phone is unlocked and I realy wanted this one to work. Thanks and appreciate all your post, it saved my day.

Aug 28, 2013 9:30 AM in response to Ceeskiby drifken,I used a vacuum cleaner hose, turned the phone up so the jack hole faced down and turned on the vacuum. I had to cup my fingers around the jack hole to get enough suction. I also used a bamboo skewer to loosen the dust in the jack hole first. Be gentle, but it works! I can hear again and don't have to talk to everyone on speaker phone mode!

Oct 5, 2013 11:22 AM in response to touziby Eden Reeves,Many thanks ... This actually works. The iPhone did think that the headphones were still connected.
The screwdriver repair technique did the trick ....
All swell that ends well .....

Dec 20, 2013 5:14 PM in response to LoryMarby rick byerly,I've been missing calls the past couple of days. The dog knocked a drink over on my iphone and I noticed the ear speaker wasn't working. After searching out this thread, the compressed air did the trick. I think I had a combination of moisture as well as "pocket debris" in the jack hole. Phone speaker works great.

Feb 17, 2014 4:39 AM in response to Akssakby mblanchard,Bizarrely, shutting down all apps 'running in the background' (including messages, phone etc (ALL of them) and then using the ear speaker etc. fixed it all for me!
I know it sounds almost too simple, but it worked for me (after my phone got wet in the rain). I hope it's as easy-a-fix for more of you.

Jul 18, 2014 10:53 AM in response to Ranjith Ramananby Shiznay,This cleaning/correction made a surprising difference. Lint and dust just poured out. I used a small dental toothpick with christmas tree like brushes and placed a slight angle/bend. Thank u and my i5 is up and running again

Oct 6, 2014 12:10 PM in response to Akssakby gfulop,My iPhone 4S when answered, I could not hear through the earpiece. I had to tap the speaker phone to hear. I have seen a lot of responses, so...what I did was insert an ear bud jack about a dozen times and no help.
Then I used air in a can, I used that compressed air and blew into the ear bud jack and the problem was resolved when tested.
Pretty darn simple and inexpensive.
I hope this helps some people out there
