Q: OS X UPGRADE

Can I upgrade my iMac Power PC iMac G5 currently running 10.5.8 to a higher OS?  If so, how?  there is no App Store in this OS.  Can I download an upgrade or do I have to order a CD?

    No.

Apple discontinued OS X support for Older PowerPC CPU Macs when OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard came out.

The last PowerPC Mac was bulit in 2005-early 2006.

This is around the time OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard came out ending all support for older PowerPC Macs,

So, the highest OS X version that can be installed on these older models is OS X 10.5.8 Leopard.

You would need to purchase a new OR "newer" Intel Mac to run higher OS X versions.

    Sorry.
