Q: A separate page calendar on OS

How can I create  a new calendar on a separate page on Mavericks?

I need to keep it separate from personal and business as I do not want to mix it together in one calendar page so I need to keep it separate.  When I click "New calendar" from the file menu it added into the list under icloud on the same calendar page, I do not want that, I wanted in a seperate page.

Used to have that in iCal, here what I found see below,

http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2513:

Create new calendars

If you want to create a new calendar, choose New Calendar from the File menu. Type a name for your calendar in the text field. For example, if you have kids, you might want to create a separate calendar for each one.

This is what i'm looking for, how can do that in the new version?

MacBook Pro, OS X Mavericks (10.9.2)

With Mavericks, new calendars are always added to iCloud.  The calendars aren't mixed together though unless you choose to view them all at the same time.  If you want to view the new calendar along with your other calendars, just uncheck it on the left sidebar in the calendar app.  When you want to view it, check it and uncheck the others.

This does not resolve it.  What I'm looking for is I wanted in a completely separate calendar.  For example, one calendar for home, another for business, kids activities, house chores, senior citizen (parents) for appointments, etc.  Its too much and confusing on one page, it would be nice to have it separate page.  I hope you can help me find the solution in this.  Thanks.

It is a completely separate calendar.   It's just listed under the iCloud heading because, like your other calendars, it belongs to your iCloud account.

All your calendars will always appear together if the are all checked, whether they are all iCloud calendars or not.  Any calendars you check on the left sidebar will appear in merged view when you view your calendar.   If you want to view just a single calendar, uncheck all the others and you will only see the one that is still checked.

You can't with the current version of Calendar.  You can uncheck those calendars you don't want in the window so you only see the calandar you want:

That means, I would have to unmark it and mark it each time and its not making it convenience.  I have at least 13 listed. So is there any other way? I see there an Apps for it,  whic do you suggest? Thanks.

Whether you have to click another tab, or a checkbox you still have to do it every time, what's the difference?

What the differences? I approximately 13 listed, I would have to unmark it all except for one and then when I'm done with it I would have to put all the check mark back on again. I would have to do that every time, thats not convenience.  I just want completely separate, in just one click away to use which calendar to see.  That's what's the difference.

How does having 13 pages help?

Or are you really looking for 12 calendars on one page, and 1 on another?

This works in Snow Leopard so I assume it works in later versions - hold the command key while clicking on any calendar which is checked to uncheck them all, then you can check the single calendar. Command-click on any unchecked calendar to recheck them all and the uncheck the single calendar.

It works in Mavericks as well.  Learn something new here every day.  Thanks, Roger.

Yes that's exactly I'm looking for, like 12 in one page and 1 or 2 on the other page.  I just learned that how to uncheck and recheck by command it on the list. That helps in a way, for just a click away. Still like to have it separately.  I'm learning... thanks.

Unfortunately Calendar won't do that, and I am not aware of any other program that will. sorry.
