Apr 6, 2014 5:38 PM in response to Mrs. and Mr. T.by JimHdk,Have you tried resetting your iPad?
Reset: Press the Home and On/Off buttons at the same time and hold them until the Apple logo appears (about 10-15 seconds).
No data will be lost.
To turn off VoiceOver go to Settings > General > Accessibility > VoiceOver and turn it off.

Apr 6, 2014 5:46 PM in response to JimHdkby Mrs. and Mr. T.,I got the apple to come up but before I could open it, it went black again and the Voice Over started up again. Are you sure this re-booting will not hurt anything? I am going to try again and be quicker about trying to open it.
