Apr 6, 2014 6:28 PM in response to Carolyn Samitby rddfxx,After turning off iMac and scanner, and turning them on again, iMac sees the scanner, which I can use via sys preferences. However, after that scan, the scanner is invisible again unless I turn the scanner off and on again. I don't know what could have changed over the last 24 hrs to disrupt a combo that had worked well together. I have been using the Epson gt 20000 reliably, almost daily, from 2009 with leopard to snow leopard to lion to mountain lion to several months now with mavericks.

Apr 6, 2014 6:38 PM in response to rddfxxby rddfxx,So far, I can scan by turning the scanner off and on to reconnect with iMac, then run a scan via sys pref or preview (ans probably image capture). Then back to square one.

Apr 7, 2014 7:11 AM in response to rddfxxby rddfxx,OK, cut to the chase and grabbed a copy of VueScan. Works like a charm. So I can't explain it, but something broke in the Epson shell that runs the driver. The surprise is everything worked in my Mavericks envronment until sometime early yesterday, no clue what may have changed. I'll take it over to Epson.
