Open disk utility and Repair the hard drive (not Repair Permissions).

To do so, select Macintosh HD from the list, then the First Aid tab, then Repair disk.

If it finds errors, but says it is repaired, run it again.

Then try to restart. If it goes back into Recovery, reset NVRAM:  http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1379

Those options usually appear when you hold down <alt> at startup. They will also appear if there is no system disk available.

It sounds like there is a problem with your internal disk.

You say "None of these options work". Have you tried all of them? Have you tried to repair or verify the disk in Disk Utility? (NB, repair disk, not permissions.) Is the disk OK?

Have you tried to restore a back up from Time Machine? What happened?

Also, what model Mac is this, e.g. 2010 MacBook Pro, 2009 iMac, etc.
