Q: Mac keeps freezing after Mavericks 1.9.2 clean install

hey there guys, I formated all my Macbook Pros 15'' late 2011 HD and reinstalled Mavericks 10.9.2 from a Recovery HD (twice) and after some time it starts to freeze - dock freezes, icons are not bouncing, when I try to close program it freezes etc. Restart didnt help, checked HD for errors, all fine. What could be the problem?

MacBook Pro, OS X Mavericks (10.9.2)

Is it a clean system or have you brought back your previous data? Also, are you using the original RAM or did you replace it?

Since the OSX Mavericks is even more sensitive to the exact spec Ram, you must check again for the Ram that you put in, check that it is exact. I have no experience with Mushkin. I always use OWC or Crucial, they are the best and have a very good warrantee.

i dont think its RAM, it was flying good with Mavericks and same RAM since the day Mavericks was available through App Store! Could it be something with mail?

If the system is clean, how could it be something with Mail? Clean means a brand new installation, none of your data has been brought back yet.

What else is back? We're not going to be able to figure this out if we don't know the state of the MBP.

Then I think I'd put the original RAM back in and see if the problem resolves. I know you don't think that's the problem, but it's 10 minutes work. At least you'll eliminate it as a possibility.

unfortunately its gone long time ago, I had no need for a 4gb of ram, so I sold it.

Make an Etrecheck list for us please: download Etrecheck from www.etresoft.com

And also tell us from which OSX you upgraded to Mavericks.

Lex and I both thought it might be a RAM problem. If you can't eliminate that as an issue, I think you're kinda stuck. You're saying it's a clean system, so RAM or a motherboard are the most likely culprits.
