Water and electronics do not mix... Make an appointment at the geinus bar. You've cooked it. It will have to be replaced.

Thanks for the reply, just being positive as the phone turns on fine and every thing works ok for 5 min and then the temperature alarm comes on. I am hoping that the issue may be limited to a perticular temperature sensor etc.

I have got the phone opened and there was little water signs that have been cleaned with alcohol but the issue remains the same. I believe that the temp alarm is caused due to the phone being kept under the table lamp which raised the phones temp beyond the acceptable range and hence may be damaged one of the temp sensors. Heard that there are around 5 different temp sensors in the iphone. If any one has more knowledge please advise on how i can get this fixed.Thanks.

Even if only one sensor failed, there's no way to repair this on the logic board, or I should say no practical way. If your logic board is damaged, & it sounds like it is, replacement of the phone is your only option. Since Apple does not sell iPhone parts, fact is, there is no source for genuine parts, & many on the market are counterfeit.

iPhones seldom, if ever, fully recover from water damage.

You opened your phone and had it "serviced" by an unauthorized "technician", and have thus voided any right to get an out of warranty replacement.
