My experience is that the approval process takes longer lately. I have published nine books so far with multiple updates. Last year, a new book was onced apporved in two days and also updates took only a day or two.
The experience from the last few month is quite different. My book "Logic Pro X - How it Works" took over three weeks and even the last two updates for my other books I delivered took up to three weeks.
A few things to consider
- Of course, the longer the book, the longer it takes for them to read. However I had books with 700+ pages and 200+ pages and didn't see much difference. It seemed that other factors weight in more (how long is the back log)
- One stupid mechanism is that once you get a ticket and submit the correction you are going back the end of the line
- The custumer support for iTunesCconnect is extremely good and helpful (877) 206-2092. When somthing took way too long or there were some problems, they conneted me directly to the senior advisor which gave me his extension to follow up on issue. Big thumbs up for that service.
About the Customer Support.
Although the guys and girls are at a different departement and don't do the actual proofreading, they are, in my experience, very helpful to solve any issue.
Hope that helps
