Mar 7, 2013 7:57 AM in response to PIECarolinaby PIECarolina,ZeoBit told the San Jose Better Business Bureau that issues I had with its Mackeeper marketing popup was caused by problems with my computer, not its popup, and was unique to me and my computer. The BBB bought that response despite my telling the BBB that many users also have a problem with the Mackeeper popup. The BBB said ZeoBit resolved the issue with its response and closed the case. From the looks of this forum and other complaints posted about ZeoBit and the Mackeeper popups in other online forums, it doesn't appear I'm the only one with the problem.

Mar 11, 2013 10:50 PM in response to Browkneeby saneman,If you have to uninstall Safari, as a last resort, or want to check to see if it has a problem, here is what I did because Safari can not just be removed by an uninstaller or thrown in the trash.
First open the terminal
Then type: codesign -vvv /Applications/Safari.app
This will tell you if Safari is running properly by saying:
/Applications/Safari.app: valid on disk
/Applications/Safari.app: satisfies its Designated Requirement
Next type: cd /Applications/
This brings you into the Applications directory, the next command deletes Safari itself:
sudo rm -rf Safari.app/

Sounds a little drastic. Has that been shown to work for anybody?
Safari can not just be removed by an uninstaller or thrown in the trash.
Well that's true, because the webkit framework is part of Safari and they have to be matched up....
First open the terminal
Then type: codesign -vvv /Applications/Safari.app
This will tell you if Safari is running properly
Actually, that only shows you that it is properly signed and reveals nothing about whether it's running properly.
Next type: cd /Applications/
This brings you into the Applications directory, the next command deletes Safari itself:
sudo rm -rf Safari.app/
OK, but that's no different than trashing the app. It still leaves the webkit framework behind. Why were you not able to remove the app by throwing it in the trash?

I don't know what your issues are, but I seriously doubt they will go away by reinstalling Safari, assuming that's even possible.

Aug 14, 2013 3:04 PM in response to Emil Indricauby Allan Eckert,It sounds to me that you have a totally different problem then what this thread is discussing. You would probably have better luck of getting a helpful answer if you started your own thread with a complete description of your problem instead of posting here at the bottom of an unrelated thread.

Apr 16, 2014 2:54 PM in response to hrik2001by diek-007,You would be wrong, I just did a clean install of mavericks. I formatted the drive, so it should have been clean. I opened Safari, visited a few sites, I closed or tried to close Safari and there is was... zeobit bs.
