Q: how do you put a password on apps to restrict them from prying eyes

i sometimes loan my iPad mini to others and I don't want them to look at other apps

    The iPad doesn't support that. It was meant to be a portable portal to iTunes for a single user. It doesn't support separate users with different access.

    If you don't want other people to see your apps, don't lend it out. You cannot password protect apps on the iPad. iOS devices are meant to be used primarily as single user devices and there is no way to lock out "prying eyes" short of not allowing others to use the device.
