Q: Cannot upgrade to Mavericks

Hi out there,

I have an issue with upgrading to Mavericks. The installer says that my MacBook does not have any recovery partition and therefore FileFault and Revovery Mode cannot be installed.

The Recovery partition is there and working. I tried with the installer I downloaded in the Appstore. Then I tried rebooting with the recovery partition and re-installing Lion through the Internet. But in this case I get the same error message.

How can I solve this issue?

I think you mean FileVault ...

I do not have FileVault enabled. My problem is that I cannot upgrade to Mavericks as the installer is telling me that I do not have a Recovery Partition. But this is simply wrong.

But neither my disk is a Raid volume nor I have a Bootcamp partion.

Try going into Disk Utility, selecting the recovery partition, mounting it and then running disk repair. See if any errors are seen and fixed (or not). Unmount the disk and try the installer again.

What happens?

It does not appear in the Disk Utility. I only see my Macintosh HD. But I can boot from the Recovery HD by holding the "alt" key when booting.
