Of course.   Anyway, there is too much information out there.   This page makes no reference to that $14.99, and would really help if Intuit added it there:

    http://quicken.intuit.com/quicken-personal-finance-software-products-services.js p

I suggest you not refer people to that page. It contains mostly PC products and the only Mac product is Quicken Essentials, which is generally loathed by most posters of this forum.

The best link, is the one that I directed you to earlier:

    http://quicken.intuit.com/personal-finance-software/quicken-2007-osx-lion.jsp

Quicken for Mac (Intel: Snow Leopard, Lion, Mt. Lion and Mavericks) for $14.99!

Admittedly, Intuit never makes it easy to find information on their products or support documents!

When I asked Intuit why it was not on: http://quicken.intuit.com/quicken-personal-finance-software-products-services.js p they said that the $15 version is only available for current Quicken 2007 users.  So $15 doesn't tell the whole story.

The Quicken for Lion ordering page has no such restriction, requests no prior ownership information and sells the full Intel version for $14.99 to all comers.

Any such information to the contrary will only serve to confuse. I suspect your service rep had too many martinis at lunch.

Their sales page is clear: no need to call to purchase.

I agree. Never had that restriction come up for anyone.

Yes: if you look closely at the top of a brody's linked page, it is limited to: "Quicken 2014 Money Management Software"

Quicken 2007 for Lion is clearly not included within the subset of: Quicken 2014 Money Management Software

Well that's interesting.  I've alerted them to look at this thread to see that their sources are either incorrect, or they have been letting people buy it without enforcing the requirement and notifying them of it.   That's very sloppy IMHO.

It has never been an issue before, just like it has never been an issue that you can download the complete version of Quicken 2006 PPC from their website for free (ostensibly, today, for purposes of updating Quicken 2004 and prior data files to Quicken 2007 format for use in Quicken 2007 for Lion).

On an analogous note, Adobe offeres a free download of CS2 on its website, and apparently having afterthoughts, later added a disclaimer that it is only available for prior purchasers of CS2 (and now a required log-in).

I downloaded it before the disclaimer was added and continue to use it as needed.  Why a substantial number of owners of CS2 would need to download it again is beyond me!

Hopefully your inquiries will not induce Intuit to add a similar disclaimer!

As you have admitted many times that you have not used Quicken since the Quicken '98 version; welcome to the world of how Inuit treats Mac users!

On a related note, when Steve Jobs rejoined Apple in the mid-90's, Inuit announced that they were going to stop upgrading Quicken for Mac users.

Steve Jobs invited Bill Campbell, then the CEO of Intuit, a board member of Apple and a former senior executive of Apple to come in and see the then "secret" iMac project prototype.

Not missing an opportunity, Campbell agreed to upgrade Quicken to Quicken '98, if Apple agreed to purchase it and bundle it with every iMac sold!  He was not a CEO for nothing...

What does that page have to do with anything? At this linked page http://quicken.intuit.com/personal-finance-software/quicken-2007-osx-lion.jsp there's no such thing.

You talkin' to me!?!  [Your post indicates that it is in response to me]

a brody's linked page is a 2014 "products" page; that's all!  Obviously, Quicken 2007 for Lion would not be included in that summary.

In any event, the debate is not worth having...

I plan to continue to point existing users, and new users as well, to your linked page for purchase of Quicken 2007 for Lion (full featured, Intel version for Snow Leopard, Lion, Mt. Lion and Mavericks).

Here's some nostalgia for a brody (who admits in his user tip that the last time he used Quicken was in Quicken Deluxe '98!):
