Apr 18, 2014 12:46 PM in response to randers4by wambliwakan,I don't know what a work exchange account is. It's the only calendar I am actually using it was automatically set up when I opened iCal with purple-coded entries for work.

So you're saying that when you click on the work calendar on the left sidebar you can't go to Edit>Delete?

Apr 19, 2014 6:22 AM in response to randers4by wambliwakan,Yes, exactly. The only options it gives me when I click on it in the sidebar is Get Info or Share Calendar. By the way, the iCloud did push the three events I created yesterday to my iPhone, but it's only those three that show up on either the iCloud or Iphone calendars.

Apr 19, 2014 4:06 PM in response to wambliwakanby randers4,Sorry but I'm not sure what would prevent you from being able to delete a calendar on your Mac. You could always create a new iCloud calendar with a similar name, then import the .ics backup of this calendar to it in order to get it in iCloud. Then you could uncheck this calendar that won't delete so you don't see duplicate events on your Mac. That would be a work-around until you can troubleshoot how to delete it. You might want to post that as a new question over in the Mavericks forum.

Apr 20, 2014 2:23 AM in response to randers4by wambliwakan,Tried to import the copy of my work calendar but iCloud.com doesn't have a function to import calendars, it only works in the Calendar app on the Mac itself. I think the problem here is that the Merge function doesn't work. When I uncheck the Calendar from the list of things saved to iCloud and then re-check it, it gives me the Merge button, and but then loads on for 5-10 seconds and the Calendar never appears in iCloud. The problem is the Merge function not working. It works on my Contacts, etc., just not the Caledar for some reason.

Correct, but you ad said ealier that events added to the calendar on your Mac were now appearing on your calendar on icloud.com. If that's the case, you should be able to create a new empty calendar for the one that won't delete (with a slightly different name), then import the backup of this calendar to this new empty calendar on your Mac, and it will upload to iCloud. As mentioned, this would only be a workaround until you can find a way to delete the original work calendar from your Mac.
Also, are you sure this work calendar is not being synced with your work exchange account? If it was, going to System Preferences>Internet Accounts, selecting the exchange account, then unchecking Calendars in the exchange account settings would remove it.

Apr 21, 2014 4:58 AM in response to randers4by wambliwakan,I've already done this and it doesn't work. When I open the copies of the calender I see the events but when I import them they disappear and I get a message that says they can't be imported because there are no events. I've checked multiple times for the "work exchange account" even though I don't know what it is. The only accounts I have are yahoo, iCloud, and Libero and I have unchecked and rechecked the Calendars multiple times in the process of trying to merge the calendars from my Mac and they don't work. I give up - I've spent hours and hours trying to make this work, have wasted lots of your time (which I really appreciate) and Apple will not respond to my request for help because I am no longer under warranty. Really disgusted with Apple service and wish I had never upgraded to Mavericks at this point. Thanks for your help but I'm done wasting my time and yours.
