You can skip Step 1, as it's already been done. Take the other steps.

Hi, I eventually completed the whole procedure.

All extensions from Safar, Chrome and Firefox are removed

From the list you gave I removed the ones highlighted in yellowbelow

    /Library/Frameworks/GenieoExtra.framework

    /Library/LaunchAgents/com.genieo.completer.update.plist

    /Library/LaunchAgents/com.genieo.engine.plist

    /Library/LaunchAgents/com.genieoinnovation.macextension.plist

    /Library/LaunchDaemons/com.genieoinnovation.macextension.client.plist

    /Library/PrivilegedHelperTools/com.genieoinnovation.macextension.client/u/usr/li b/libgenkit.dylib

    /usr/lib/libgenkitsa.dylib

    /usr/lib/libimckit.dylib

    /usr/lib/libimckitsa.dylib

    ~/Library/Application Support/com.genieoinnovation.Installer

    ~/Library/LaunchAgents/com.genieo.completer.download.plist

    ~/Library/LaunchAgents/com.genieo.completer.update.plist

Thank you so much for the great support!

In addition to all advices you gave me on trusted sites and apps, shall I regularly rung the diagnostic to see if there is any unusual application installed? Is there any way to scan the system and check if all genieo files are removed?

In the meantime I already awarded 2 answers to you, tell me if I can do more...

    Best

No. You should change your habits so that no unusual application will ever be installed. That's the only way to protect yourself.

    LInc,

One user's experience differs from the other respondents.

The gophoto.it extension does not appear in the Safari extensions list, but it does appear in the extensions folder as "gophoto-it.safariextz."  According to EntreCheck the extension was running and Chrome would lauch unwanted websites.

The file was moved to the trash folder, and all is well for now.

Thanks for all you support activities.  Most impressive.
