Apr 20, 2014 3:43 PM in response to Tdymentby YangJin,I don't think we should "bow to the will of Apple" and upgrade our phones to the latest iOS. We consumers should be allowed to pick what we like and not make upgrading of the phone as mandatory. Besides, it seems like there are iOS 7 users who are also suffering from this problem as well.
So far, no Apple representative have said anything on this board and this issue has yet to be officially addressed. I think this is a rather disappointing behavior from Apple.

Apr 20, 2014 3:48 PM in response to YangJinby Rojmer,Apple representatives NEVER make contributions on this board so expecting them to do so now is unrealistic and it will not happen.
Sooner or later this issue with FaceTime will be fixed, If you do not want to upgrade to iOS 7, don't do it. Besides, there are reports from users of iOS 7 that they are also suffering from the FaceTime outage.
You just got to be patient or try the upgrade. Your choice.

Apr 20, 2014 7:37 PM in response to Tdymentby WayneHowkins,The update probley has something to fix a vulnerability in face time. Which would not allow older OS because of the problem.
Also make certain your messaging is turned on and working. Face Time servers require a text to complete the process. If you are not sure...text yourself to test it.
But for me updating to the latest OS in all iProducts did the trick.

Apr 20, 2014 7:42 PM in response to Tdymentby Lily19790112,I am in China and making phone calls to my families in Taiwan and Australia. None of us can establish the FaceTime connections successfully. I myself is using iPhone4 with OS Ver 6.1.3. No intent to upgrade to the latest iOS version.

Apr 21, 2014 4:43 AM in response to Tdymentby tomfromtooele,Two of my friends have this issue. I am fine though. Very annoying. I would expect something like this to be fixed I. 24 hours or so, not a few days or whenever they get to it.

Apr 21, 2014 2:09 PM in response to terrifromwvby Diane1850,I updated to iOS 7.1 last Wednesday. Phone says updates are current. I tried to FaceTime last Thursday - after the latest update and that's when I realized I can not connect to FaceTime. It rings, then shows that the person I'm trying to FaceTime with, is unavailable. When they try to FaceTime me, it gives them the same message. We are all current on the updates. Our settings are exactly as they should be. There has to be another problem with FaceTime.
This is so frustrating!!! Skype and a different phone are looking better every day.

Apr 21, 2014 8:42 PM in response to Tdymentby StirFry_2112,I am having the same issue with 2 identical iPad mini's running iOS 6 and an iPad 2 running iOS 5. iOS 7 iPad Air works fine only on computer to iPad connection (Mac OS 10.8.6 to iOS 7.1). Tried testing on different internet, no improvement. Tried turning off FaceTime and re-signing in, no improvement. Not going to upgrade to new OS, and have a call scheduled with apple rep for tomorrow. Will post back if I get any useful information.
