Apr 23, 2013 6:56 PM in response to janicefromtucsonby sanjampet,Janice, Your profile says you are running 10.6.7, if you are up to date in snow leopard you should update your profile, as this will help if have a need to post other questions.
Are you running Mail 4.6? (Mail>about Mail)
If you have not installed this update you should:
http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1399
You can check by going to system preferences>software update, installed software tab.
As well as this one:
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1222
See this and maybe there is something that might help, I do not use gmail.
http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3276
Another thing to try is recreating your account, first go to Mail preferences and write down all the info in accounts, you can click the + sign at the bottom left and follow the prompts and make a new account, try it and if it works you can delete the old one.
Hope something here helps you,
Best

PeripheralsHello Janice,
I suspect you have somehow got involved with the Communities and the mail you are getting relates to questions there. Read the document here >>>
Stopping notifications from ASC. Frank Caggiano's document is very easy to follow … Stopping emails from ASC: Apple Support Communities
If by any chance you continue to receive them, save a few in your junk box and analyse them. You may find they all come from one commumity or be about one subject. We can advise you further if you can confirm that.
